Effect of over temperature of molten steel in induction melting furnace on continuous casting

The results show that the superheat of molten steel and the rapid flow of molten steel have great influence on the continuous casting slab

(1) With the increase of superheat and flow velocity of molten steel, the thickness of solidified shell decreases and the inhomogeneity of solidified shell increases.

(2) The slow cooling mould can effectively prevent the solidification inhomogeneity caused by superheat and flow of molten steel.

(3) The negative segregation band on the surface of slab (6-10 mm) is produced at 250-450 mm away from meniscus, which is caused by the outflow of immersion nozzle.
