How to protect the lining of induction furnace?

Magnesium carbon brick has the advantages of high fire resistance, good slag resistance, strong heat resistance and vibration resistance and low creep at high temperature. Its application on the lining of medium frequency electric furnace lays a foundation for reducing the cost of medium frequency electric furnace steelmaking. Although it has the advantages above, the use environment still has a great influence on the effect it can achieve. The specific summary is as follows:

1. Furnace capacity ratio: if the furnace capacity ratio is too large, the cost of medium frequency electric furnace steelmaking will be increased; if the furnace capacity ratio is too small, splashing will occur easily, reducing the service life of lining of intermediate frequency electric furnace, which is not conducive to improving the productivity of induction smelting furnace. Therefore, the furnace capacity ratio determined in the design should be maintained in the production process of intermediate frequency electric furnace.

2. Loading system: determine reasonable loading amount and appropriate ratio of molten iron and scrap steel. In determining the charging capacity of intermediate frequency electric furnace, in addition to considering a suitable furnace capacity ratio, it is necessary to ensure the proper depth of the melting pool. In order to ensure that the bottom of the intermediate frequency electric furnace is not impacted by oxygen jet, the depth of the melting pool must exceed the maximum penetration depth of oxygen flow to the molten pool.

3. Oxygen supply system: to determine a scientific and reasonable oxygen supply system, ensure the removal rate of impurities, the heating speed of molten pool, the slag making speed, control splashing and removal of gas and inclusions in steel, reasonably control the end carbon and temperature, which has important influence on the converter to strengthen smelting, improve the quality of steel and improve the service life of furnace lining.

4. Temperature system: under the premise of satisfying the casting of molten steel, the lower the temperature control and end temperature of intermediate frequency electric furnace is beneficial to improve the lining life of intermediate frequency electric furnace;

5. Raw material quality: the quality of raw materials used in medium frequency electric furnace steelmaking has certain influence on the lining life of intermediate frequency electric furnace, such as molten iron, scrap steel, slag making material, slag adjusting agent and flux
